How to Get Out of A Fashion Rut

We've all been there. You wake up one day and realize that you've been wearing the same thing for weeks, maybe even months. Your wardrobe feels uninspired, and you can't seem to break out of the rut. If this sounds familiar, don't worry - it happens to the best of us. Here are some tips to help you break out of your style rut and find your fashion mojo again.

Go through your closet with a critical eye.

The first step to getting out of a style rut is to take a good, hard look at your closet. Chances are, there are items in there that you haven't worn in years (or maybe even decades!). Oftentimes, we think we have nothing to wear because we don't have that one specific item we're looking for. But chances are, you have plenty of clothes that you love—you just need to mix and match them in new ways. So, take everything out of your closet and lay it out on your bed. Then, sort through it and get rid of anything you don't wear or no longer love. Once you've done that, you'll probably realize that you have more options than you thought.

Experiment with new styles and trends.

One reason you may be stuck in a style rut is that you're afraid to experiment with new looks. But fashion is all about trying new things and having fun with it! So go ahead and try that new trend you've been eyeing or experiment with a different style than what you usually go for. You may be surprised at how much you like it.

Go shopping!

Sometimes the best way to get out of a style rut is simply by buying some new clothes. Usually all you need is a few key pieces to breathe new life into your wardrobe. So go ahead and treat yourself to something new—you deserve it!

Take inspiration from others (but make it your own).

If you're still feeling stuck, get some fashion inspiration from others—whether it's celebs, bloggers, or even just people you see on the street. But don't copy their looks exactly; instead, use them as a starting point to create your own unique style.

There you have it!

There's no need to stay stuck in a fashion rut! By taking some time to assess your wardrobe, experimenting with new styles, and drawing inspiration from others, you can easily find your way back to fashion mojo-land in no time.
