Fall fashion Trend: How to Color Block for the Best Look

Wearing multiple colors at once can be a bit daunting, but when done right, it can give you a very put together and polished look. The key to successful color blocking is to choose colors that complement each other well and to stick to a limited palette. Read on for some tips on how to color block for the best look.

1. Figure out what colors go well together.

This may take some trial and error, but it's important to find a combination of colors that you feel good in and that also look good together. A good place to start is by choosing two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. For example, if you want to wear a pair of orange cargo pants, you can top it off with a blue puffer jacket, and that would be a perfect color blocking combination.

2. Start putting outfit together.

Once you have your colors picked out, it's time to start putting together your outfit. If you're going for a more casual look, you can simply pair your colored items with neutral basics like a white t-shirt or black leggings. If you want a more dressy look, try pairing your colored items with each other. For example, if you have a green dress and a red duster coat, try pairing them together with a monochromatic shoes and purse in either color.

3. Accessorize!

Color blocking is the perfect opportunity to experiment with bold and bright accessories. If you're wearing a neutral colored outfit, add a pop of color with your shoes or handbag. Or, if your outfit is already quite colorful, choose accessories in complementary colors or in metallic shades.

4. Finally, don't forget about makeup!

Choose lip and cheek colors that complement your outfit and add some extra pizazz to your look. For example, if you're wearing mostly earth tones, opt for a pink or mauve lipstick shade.

There you have it!

Color blocking can be tricky, but when done right it can result in a very stylish and put-together look. Follow the tips above for guidance on how to figure out which colors go well together and how to put together the perfect color blocked outfit. And don't forget about makeup—it's the perfect finishing touch for any ensemble!
